British dance troupe Burn the Floor will perform two consecutive nights in Beijing at the Beijing Exhibition Hall from Jan.30 to Feb.4.
Burn the Floor began with a spectacular ballroom dance demonstration at Elton John¡¯s 50th birthday party in 1997. Australian producer Harley Medcalf attended this party and was mesmerized.
In 1998, Burn the Floor stormed their way onto stages around the world and have since toured 32 countries and sold over 3 million tickets. Burn the Floor became the biggest touring dance show in the world and has since performed in such prestigious venues as the Royal Albert Hall in London, Radio City Music Hall in New York and the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Their stunning performance has made them an overnight sensation and earned them rave reviews. Burn the Floor brings to life all styles of dance on stage including the samba, salsa, the elegance of the waltz, the rumba, tango, and the dynamic energy of swing and jive.
The show will be staged by 36 top-class dancers from 12 countries, sources with the chief organizer China Arts and Entertainment Group said.
The 36 dancers have between them won 136 world championship competitions.
It has been 10 years since the first performance of the Burn the Floor. In memory of that, The troupe organize this first world tour specially.
