Imperial Envoy is adapted from the Russian writer Gogol's works: One day, Qiansan, a corrupted county magistrate, received a letter from his uncle who is an official in the capital informing that an imperial envoy dressed like an ordinary person had arrived at the county Qian governs. Qiansan was so terrified that he immediately sent his secondary to find out the whereabouts of the imperial envoy. At this time, Jiasi, son of a rich family in the capital, was put onto court after failing to pay for his accommodation fee at an inn. Qiansan mistakenly took Jiasi as the imperial envoy and tried every means he could to flatter and bribe Jiasi, who fled when the real imperial envoy arrived, leaving Qiansan and other corrupt officials fall into deep regret.
