Founded in 1971, Brigham Young University Ballroom Dance Company roots from Brigham Young University, the largest private university in the U.S. In the past 24 years, championship formation dancing, breath-taking lifts and spins¡ªall performed in a seemingly endless stream of shimmering costumes¡ªno one does it better than the Ballroom Dance Company. The company has toured with its variety showcase of Latin and international dance styles¡ªincluding waltz, samba, foxtrot, and hustle¡ªthroughout Europe, the Middle East, the South Pacific, eastern Asia, and the United States.Their audiences have included the prime minister of India, the queen of Thailand, and the king and queen of Jordan. Live and televised appearances in major concert halls and impromptu performances in hospitals, orphanages, town squares and government palaces reach millions of people each year.They have also performed as special guest artists at ballroom dance competitions in China, Ukraine, and Hungary. In 2002, BYU Young Ambassadors performed on Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, their incomparable excellence impressed the world.¡¡And always, no matter where they perform, the Ballroom Dance Company dazzles and delights.
